Popular S.A. Course Going Private

River Crossing Golf Club, off U.S. 281 near Spring Branch, is one of the most popular public courses in the San Antonio area. Problem is, it won't be public much longer. River Crossing is in the process of going private. Details here and here.

River Crossing has always been overrated. People love it because the conditioning is fantastic, but the holes aren't great holes. I've never been willing to pay full price to play there.

I agree with the prior posted comment. I spent a week in S.A. playing such courses as The Quarry and La Cantera, finishing with River Crossing on my way out of town on a Saturday. After paying two full green fees I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the course. The food was bad as well. I think they have an uphill climb to be private.
