Good Weekend for Texas on Tours

What a weekend for Texas on the pro tours, the weekend just completed:

  • Great tournament at the Shell Houston Open. One of the biggest names in golf, Adam Scott, was the winner, beating another top-tier talent, Stuart Appleby, down the stretch. And the Tournament Course at Redstone won raves. NBC's Johnny Miller even said it was in better shape than Augusta.

  • Former University of Texas standout Omar Uresti only managed to finish the Nationwide Tour's Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship at even-par. But since nobody else was below par, Uresti was the winner.

  • Keith Fergus won the Champions Tour Ginn Championship, becoming just the second golfer to record wins on the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour. Fergus is a Temple native and former golf coach at the University of Houston.
