"Adams Golf Pro Tour Series" is still tough for me to say. I keep wanting to say "Tight Lies Tour." But after the USPGT destroyed that brand, well, thanks to the old Tight Lies leadership for getting this regional tour back up and running so quickly and successfully.
The Coca-Cola/Wal-Mart Open was played at Oak Wing Golf Club in Alexandria, La., over the weekend. The Alexandria newspaper gives some good background on the USPGT fiasco and how the tour was reborn as the Adams Golf Pro Tour series here.
Meanwhile, here are the Top 5 finishers at the Coca-Cola/Wal-Mart Open:
Daniel Fox, Little Rock, Ark., 68-64-67-68--267 (-21)
Brett Callas, Houston, 69-65-68-66--268 (-20)
Adam Meyer, Fort Worth, 66-72-69-65--272 (-16)
Brice Garnett, Gallatin, Mo., 67-72-69-65--273 (-15)
Mike Wendling, Oklahoma City, Okla., 70-70-68-65--273 (-15)
Andrew Dresser, Carrollton, 66-71-66-70--273 (-15)
Fox earned just under $13,000 for the win. He moves into second place, behind Meyer, on the money list.
