S.A.'s Brackenridge Closing for 8 Months
But you've still got to time to play the course before the closure, which is pegged to begin in February and run for eight months.
The closure will allow for a renovation costing nearly $3 million and led by Arlington golf course architect John Colligan.
The historic Brackenridge, designed by A.W. Tillinghast and one of the oldest golf courses in Texas, has been showing its age in recent years. And play has declined not only at Brack, but at all San Antonio municipals. The city recently created a governing body for golf, the Municipal Golf Association, which is in charge of coming up with plans for improving the quality of the city courses and the quality of the golfers' experiences at city courses.
The Brack renovation is a major step in that plan.
