Colt Knost Brings U.S. Am Title to Texas

Colt Knost of Dallas is the 2007 U.S. Amateur Championship winner.

What I love above the photo above is the cutline the USGA put on it, calling Knost's reaction to a putt "a monstrous fist pump."

Colt defeated Michael Thompson of Arizona 2 and 1 in a match that everyone is describing as hard-fought and closely-contested. This is Knost's second big win of the summer. Earlier in the year he won the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. According to About.com, that makes Knost just the sixth person ever to win two USGA titles in the same season, and just the second to win both the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Public Links titles in the same year.

You can read all about it at the U.S. Amateur Web site.
