Houston’s David Lundstrom posted a 36-hole score of 69-69—138 to win the 2007 Sun Mountain Southern Texas PGA Senior Professional Championship at The Woodlands Country Club’s Gary Player Course.
The victory marked the fourth time Lundstrom has won the STPGA’s Senior Championship and qualifies the Houston professional for the 2007 Callaway Golf Senior PGA Professional Championship, which will be played Oct. 18-21 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Lundstrom also received exemption into event qualifying for three Champions Tour events— the Administaff Small Business Classic, the AT&T Championship and the FedEx Kinko’s Classic.
Lundstrom will be joined at the 2007 Callaway Golf Senior PGA Professional Championship by five fellow qualifiers from the Southern Texas PGA — Gordon Johnson of Houston, The Woodlands’ Jim Dickson, Jeff Hunter and Chuck Westergard of San Antonio, and Marty Fleckman of Cypress.
In addition to the previously mentioned prizes, Lundstrom earned $700 for winning the 60-69 Division of the STPGA tournament. Fleckman finished in second place in that group at 146 to win $500.
Gordon Johnson won the 50-59 age division with a score of 71-71—142, good for $700 in earnings. Jim Dickson finished second at 144, taking home $500, while Hunter and Westergard posted scored of 145 to tie for third place winnings of $375 each.
Spring’s Dave Findlay won the 70-79 Division and $450 with a score of 78-80—158.
