Simonsen Edges Lardon for STPGA Title

Two former PGA Tour players finished at the top of the leaderboard in the Southern Texas PGA's Memorial Championship. The tournament was played at Houston Country Club. Here's the report from the STPGA:

Henrik Simonsen, director of golf at Austin's Spanish Oaks Golf Club, posted a 36-hole total of 67-71—140, 4-under-par for the golf course at Houston Country Club, to win the 2007 Club Car Southern Texas PGA Memorial Championship, The victory earned Simonsen a check for $3,300.

Brad Lardon, director of golf at Bryan's Miramont Country Club, and Carl Cooper, golf school director at the Humble Oil Patch Golf Center, finished in a second-place tie at 141, good for winnings of $2,250 each.

Houston's David Lundstrom won the tournament’s Senior Division with a score of 67-71—138, taking home $1,500 for his effort.

The Woodlands' Jim Dickson, at 71-71—142, was the runner-up amongst the seniors and won $1,100.
