STPGA Assistants Championship

The TaylorMade Southern Texas PGA Assistants Championship was just completed at Eagle Pointe in Mont Belvieu. Here's the report from the STPGA:

Stephen Ubernosky, an assistant professional at The Deerwood Club in Kingwood, posted a 36-hole score of 68-71—139 to win the 2007 TaylorMade-adidas Southern Texas PGA Assistants Championship at Eagle Pointe Golf Club in Mont Belvieu.

Ubernosky’s finished one stroke ahead of Thomas Wolfenberger for the championship and earned $1,500.

Wolfenberger, an assistant professional at Houston’s Pine Forest Country Club, earned $1,000 for his second place finish.

Tony Johnson, an assistant professional at Escondido in Horseshoe Bay, finished in third place at 73-71—144 for $800 in earnings.

As the top three golfers in the STPGA tournament, Ubernosky, Wolfenberger and Johnson will advance to the national TaylorMade-adidas Golf PGA Assistant Professional Championship, to be played Oct. 25-28, 2007, at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Magnus Dohlvik of The Academy at La Cantera in San Antonio, and Steve Parker of Houston’s Northgate Country Club, finished in a fourth-place tie at 146 and took home $650 each.

Parker won a playoff to be designated the first-alternate qualifier for the national tournament.
