AT&T Championship Touts Texans in Field

The Champions Tour's AT&T Championship is due in San Antonio in just a couple weeks. And the tournament organizers appear very happy with the field they are drawing, particularly all the Texans who'll be showing up. No surprise, the event is in Texas, after all, and the tournament has a strong history of strong fields at Oak Hills Country Club, a course the senior circuit golfers love.

Among those golfers who are from Texas or live here who will be playing are Lanny Wadkins, a longtime residents of the Metroplex who'll be making a rare Champions Tour appearance. Wadkins played sparingly during his first couple years of eligibility because of broadcasting commitments; this year he's been recovering from back surgery.

Also playing will be Corpus Christi native and resident Phil Blackmar, who'll be making his maiden start on the Champions Tour.

Other golfers from Texas, or living here, who'll be playing include: Ben Crenshaw, Tom Kite, D.A. Weibring, Tom Jenkins, Lee Trevino, Bill Rogers and Brad Bryant.
