Congratulations to Anna Schultz of Rockwall, the 2007 winner of the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur championship. The tournament was completed Thursday at Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Oregon.

It is the first USGA championship for Schultz, age 52, and comes one year after she lost in the finals of the same national championship.

Schultz defeated Robyn Puckett, 60, of Irvine, Calif., in the final, 1-up on the second extra hole.

"It's overwhelming," Schultz said afterward. "I am so thrilled. I've wanted this for so long. This is what we work for and what we dream of. It's something everybody wants so badly."

The championship match recap on the USGA site details that Schultz took an early lead, then held on as Puckett made a furious comeback, before closing it out on the 20th hole.

The USGA site also includes the transcript of a post-championship interview with Schultz.
