Colonial Memorializes Phil's Famous Shot

Above is a clip of the spectacular wedge to the 18th green played by Phil Mickelson at the 2008 Colonial, the shot the won him the tournament. It's a shot with a very, very high degree of difficulty, and in the several weeks since the tournament ended Colonial members have found it hard to resist dropping a ball at that spot and attempting the shot themselves.

In fact, Golf World reported, Colonial members have already worn the spot bare. So the club is placing a plaque at the spot to note the Mickelson magic. It will be the first plaque at memorial dedicated to a single shot.
