Winning Tradition

Houston's Mike Kullberg birdied his final hole to post a 36-hole total of 5-under-par 139 to win the 2008 Southern Texas PGA Callaway Tradition Championship at Bastrop's Wolfdancer Golf Club by a single stroke.

Kullberg, an assistant professional at Blackhorse Golf Club in Cypress, held a one stroke lead heading into the second and final round of the tournament. He earned $3,000 for his victory.

Lonny Alexander, who will defend his title at the 2008 STPGA Professional Championship next month, finished in second place at 70-70—140. A teaching professional at Onion Creek Club in Austin, Alexander took home $$2,300 for his play in the Callaway event.

Houston's Steve Parker and Edwin Dickens, a teaching professional at Fredericksburg’s Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course, tied for third place at 141 and won $1,700 each.
