Cameron Doan is NTPGA Player of the Year

cameron doanCongratulations to Cameron Doan for earning Norther Texas PGA Player of the Year honors. Here is the report from the NTPGA:

DALLAS, TX – The Northern Texas PGA is pleased to announce that Cameron Doan, head golf professional at Preston Trail Golf Club in Dallas, captured the Cleveland Golf/Club Car NTPGA Player of Year Award as well as the Ben Hogan/NTPGA Stroke Play Average Award.

Doan accumulated a 402.5 point total to capture the 2008 Cleveland Golf/Club Car NTPGA Player of the Year title with four top five finishes. He finished tied for fourth at the E-Z-GO Eastern Championship, first at the Callaway Golf Western Championship, tied for second at the NTPGA Professional Championship and placed third at the FINA NTPGA Section Championship.

Doan finished the year with a stroke average of 70.50 for eight rounds en route to capturing the 2008 Ben Hogan/ NTPGA Stroke Play Average Award. He recorded seven even par or better rounds in 2008.

The Cleveland Golf/Club Car NTPGA Player of the Year Points Challenge is a season long competition that rewards the top-40 finishers in the four major individual stroke play events. The Ben Hogan/NTPGA Stroke Play Average Award requires a minimum of six rounds in the four major individual stroke play events. The four events are the E-Z-GO Eastern Championship, NTPGA PGA Professional Championship, Callaway Golf Western Championship, and the FINA NTPGA Section Championship. The Cleveland Golf/Club Car NTPGA Player of the Year Points Challenge is presented by Ashworth and KMG Marketing.

The top 32 finishers in the 2008 Cleveland Golf/Club Car NTPGA Player of the Year Points Challenge will receive invitations into the Cleveland Golf/Club Car Match Play Championship on November 10-12 at the Four Seasons Resort and Club in Irving.

Greg Antunes of Stonetree Golf Club captured the NTPGA Senior Points Challenge. Antunes amassed 362.50 points with three top five finishes, one of which was a win at the FINA NTPGA Seniors Championship at Hurricane Creek Country Club in Anna.
