Sherman Hills Golf Club, a new course in Sherman that opened last month, gets a nice plug in T+L Golf's September/October issue, on newsstands now. The magazine blurbs:
Prone to Texas winds that can wreak havoc on mis-hit shots, this daily-fee course an hour north of Dallas demands ball control above all. The sloping fairways on the hilly, rocky site are flanked by stands of bur oak and black walnut. Post Oak Creek and its various tributaries lace through the second nine, and holes thirteen through fifteen amble through a lovely pecan orchard.
Sherman Hills is actually semi-private, offering membership options but also offering daily rates for visitors. The par-72 track has tees ranging from 5,500 yards long to 7,550 yards, and boasts bentgrass greens.
That's the ninth hole in the top photo; below are the 15th and, on the bottom, the 18th.
