North Texas Team Revealed for Jordan Cup

The Joe Black Cup isn't the only Ryder Cup-style tournament involving Texas' PGA sections. The Northern Texas PGA also competes in the James P. Jordan Cup Matches, a competition pitting the NTPGA team against one representing the South Central PGA (Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas).

The NTPGA has dominated the series, leading 15-2 overall. The Jordan Cup was first played in 1991 and are named for James P. Jordan, past chairman of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas and Northwood Club member.

The teams are each comprised of 12 assistant professionals. Judd Whiteman, PGA assistant golf professional at Dallas National Golf Club, is the NTPGA captain.

The 2008 James P. Jordan Cup matches take place Nov. 2-3 at Wichita Country Club in Wichita, Kansas.
