Romo Shoots 71 in Round 1 of US Open Sectional
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo recovered from an early triple-bogey to card a 71 in the morning session at the U.S. Open sectional qualifier in The Woodlands on Monday. Another 18 holes is under way now in the 36-hole qualifier, but after a weather delay it is uncertain whether the sectional will be completed today.
Romo's 71 put him in a tie for 10th place, four strokes off the lead. Only the top two finishers will move on to the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach next week.
Romo recorded a triple-bogey 8 on the par-5 fourth hole, but made no other bogeys and scored four birdies in the rest of his first round.
